Unit Manager-Dementia Care Unit - RN, LPN

Status: Full-time – Non-Exempt Status

Reports to: Director of Nursing

Position Summary: Assists the Director of Nursing in directing the activities of licensed and non-licensed personnel who provide health care and nursing services to residents of Redbanks Skilled Nursing Center on a 24-hour, 7 day per week basis. The incumbent shares, with the Director of Nursing, the responsibility for hiring Nursing Department staff, completing employee appraisals, rewarding/recognizing outstanding performance and resolving employee issues including disciplinary action or termination. The Unit Managers may confer with residents medical providers to clarify medical orders and direct care. This position is also required to do on-call rotation.

Principal Accountabilities: Oversees the clinical operations (i.e. Monitoring resident conditions, psycho pharmacological drugs, restraint use, foley catheters, pressure ulcers, etc.) of assigned nursing Units. Conducts nursing rounds on assigned units daily, including the beginning and end of shift. Monitors documentation of care and ensures deficiencies are addressed and resolved. Provides reports/recommendations as needed/required for the Director of Nursing concerning the operations of Nursing Services. Manages and approves the use of paid time off and reviews, corrects and approves employee timekeeping records. Ensures employee schedules are completed, posted and maintained per policy and ensures adequate staffing levels are maintained. Monitors progress towards care plan goals and resident satisfaction in conjunction with the MDS Nurse. Attends all resident/family care plan meetings for residents of assigned units. Participates in the discharge planning process along with the interdisciplinary team and coordinates necessary information to responsible parties at discharge. Attends all necessary daily, weekly, and monthly meetings related to the delivery of quality nursing care (Events, NAR, QAPI, Pharmacy, Infection Control, Safety, etc.). Assists the Director of Nursing in ensuring nursing staff awareness and compliance with Federal and State regulations relative to resident rights issues.

Professional Qualifications: Must be a graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing, Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred: Licensed as a Registered Nurse or Lpn, preferably in a long-term care facility with Dementia experience.

Director of Dietary Services

Position Summary: The primary purpose of this job is to evaluate all aspects of the Dining Service Department including code compliance, sanitation and infection control, meal preparation and service, purchasing systems, budgets/cost control and resident’s nutritional status.

Qualifications:
• A certified dietary manager, food service manager or has similar national certification for food service management and safety from a national certifying body.
• Has a associate’s or higher degree in food service management of in hospitality, if the course study includes food service or restaurant management, from an accredited institution of higher learning or has 2 or more years of experience in the position of director of food and nutrition services in a nursing facility setting and has completed a course of study in food safety and management, by no later than October 1, 2023, that includes topics integral to managing dietary operations including, but not limited to, foodborne illness, sanitation procedures, and food purchasing/receiving and in States that have established standards for food service managers or dietary managers, meets State requirements for food service managers or dietary managers. Receives frequently scheduled consultations from a qualified dietitian or other clinically qualified nutrition professional.
• Ability to relate positively, effectively and appropriately with residents, families, community members volunteers and other facility staff. Possess special interest in, and a positive attitude about, working with long-term care residents.

Staff Development Coordinator - RN - Henderson

Redbanks is a locally managed, community focused, not-for-profit skilled nursing center located in Henderson, Ky.

Redbanks is currently looking for a RN to education and train our staff. The Staff Development Coordinator is responsible for the education and training needs of all team members in the organization, with an emphasis in nursing education due to the high percentage of nursing positions within the organization. The Staff Development Coordinator also serves as a Certified Nurse Aide Trainer and teaches the Certified Nursing Assistant classes at the Center.

Professional Qualifications:
• Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing with KY Registered Nurse Licensure.
• Extensive and proven experience in nursing education with a preference for long-term care education.
• MOI and CPR instructor preferred.

Essential Job Functions:
• Participates in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational resources, activities, in-services and continuing education offerings for staff, patient, family, and community.
• Ensures all of the clinical in-services of the organization are provided in an engaging, thorough, and interesting manner in an effort to maximize the retention and applicability for the learner.
• Performs the bulk of ongoing competency testing of clinical team members on clinical and documentation skills. Delegates some competency testing tasks to other clinical leaders when deemed appropriate by Center leadership.

Redbanks is currently hiring full-time and part-time Certified Nurse Assistants to join our Redbanks team. Redbanks is a locally managed, Community focused, not-for-profit, Skilled nursing center located in Henderson, Ky. Full-time Certified Nurse Assistants works on a rotation, on this rotation you work 14 days a month with every other weekend off.

Shift Differentials include:
$1 for12-hours shifts
$1.50 for night shift
$3.00 for Weekends (Saturday and Sundays)
